MáLAGA_MUSEO INTERACTIVO DE LA MÚSICA

Malaga Council’s Department of Culture and Education runs a growing network of local museums and cultural spaces across the city. The emerging cultural infrastructure has been due to the increasing demand for creative and cultural related services and products from local residents and visitors (mainly tourists). Since Music has been at the heart of Malaga city, in 2002 the Council supported the creation of Interactive Music Museum of Malaga (MIMMA), museum which plays a key role in the promotion and learning of music.

MIMMA has a very active programme of activities (exhibitions, concerts, master-classes, etc.) for different groups, including school children, associations, families and general public. The “Interactive Music Museum Malaga” houses one of the most comprehensive collections in Europe, with over 400 instruments from different historic periods and continents. The Museum has been conceived like a great cultural space where visitors are surrounded by sounds and it makes use of the latest technological advances and interactive tools to showcase all aspects of music, from the meaning of silence, passing through music creation and until the transformation of music as a product for public consumption.

Malaga City Council is responsible for this project through the Interactive Music Museum (MIMMA).

The MIMMA uses cutting edge technology to show different approaches to music.
